  • Pre-Construction/Pre-Start Consultation | Natalie Rumble

Back to Services Pre-Construction/ Pre-Start Consultation Selecting finishes for a project can be daunting and confusing. There are so many options! It can be a real money saver to have the project finishes, fittings and furnishings selected during the planning stage of a project. Finishes often require specific types of substrates or structural support so by having these selected before the build or renovation starts, can save having to rectify oversights or make last minute reselections. Finishes, Fittings & Furnishings Selections Process THE BRIEF In person consultation going over the project functions, your wants and needs and revision of project plans and inspiration material to establish the interior design brief. From this I can develop the interior design brief and provide you with a digital mood board and written brief. FINISHES SELECTIONS About a 2-3 hour face to face meeting with product samples I’ve curated based on the interior design brief to select finishes such as wall coverings, colours, tiles and flooring. I will then provide you with a digital material board and finishes schedule including product information, project applications, product images, estimates where available, and supplier details. PRODUCT SELECTION GUIDE A researched and assembled list of recommended fittings and fixtures for you to select from. This will include at 2-3 options for each item, product information, project applications, product images, costs and supplier information to assist with your selection. Product selections include door hardware throughout, bathroom fixtures & fittings, cabinetry fittings and hardware, light fittings & accessories, window treatments, appliances and built-in furniture. Supplier showroom/site visits are often required for this stage. FURNITURE SELECTION GUIDE A researched and assembled list of recommended furnishings for the project. Included in the researched and assembled list will be at least 2 options per item, furniture images, costs, supplier details, lead times and project applications to assist you with your selections and ordering.

  • Accessible & Inclusive Design | Natalie Rumble

Back to Services Accessible & Inclusive Design Disability, Dementia and Aged Care Design The work I have done in the disability sector is my proudest and seems to be the most impactful. The brief is usually to create a space that is accessible without it feeling sterile and institutional and allow high care residents or differently abled people to feel at home and it is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy. I push suppliers to develop accessible and inclusive products which would fit into mainstream design and I hope one day the industry makes many options available to accessible designs. The best feedback I receive is that which tells me I've made their lives better by optimising the experience of a space; whether they get more enjoyment out of the aesthetic design; or can manoeuvre through a space with ease; or can access and utilise more within that space. Perhaps overlooked in many designs, I believe accessible and inclusive design is not just for specialist facilities, but should be considered for every building. If you're planning to build your forever home, for example, it is important to consider that as you age, things change and challenges arise. Simply choosing certain finishes or increasing a doorway size can future-proof your home. Or if you're creating a hospitality or retail space, your customers will appreciate a smooth integration of accessible design.

  • Artwork Selections | Natalie Rumble

Back to Services Artwork Selections Where. To. Begin...!? Art is not "one size fits all" and everybody has different tastes in colours, subjects and styles. What is it about a piece that appeals to you? Perhaps the ambiguity of an abstract piece allows the space to remain neutral or an impressionist piece can bring a subject to attention or a landscape photograph can take your mind elsewhere and create a sense of greater space. Maybe you just like the colours or the subject. Artwork Selections can be more straight forward than you think. I can work with you to discover the style, colours and media of artwork that will best suit the space. The Art Gallery of Western Australia is always a great place to find inspiration

  • Rocky Bay Sicily Rise | Natalie Rumble

Rocky Bay Sicily Rise AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDEPENDENCE Rocky Bay is a Leading Provider of Disability Services to thousands of people in Perth WA, helping West Australians discover abilities since 1938. This $1.75m share house project will provide a handful of West Australians with an independent lifestyle in a community designed to support and encourage them. The possibilities are endless when we’re surrounded by people who makes us feel safe and included. Rocky Bay don’t rent rooms, they create homes. Each unit is designed to support Rocky Bay clients living with disability, but not defined by it. With domestic materials and finishes used throughout the schemes, the project feels more like home than a supported care facility. Independence is encouraged through the design with motorised adjustable bench tops, blinds and doors to allow the residents to utilise their home as much as possible. With three units and a carers' quarters included in this project, it was important to create three different interior design schemes which all had a relationship to one another. By creating a point of difference between each unit, the residents are provided with a sense of individualism and uniqueness. All three units feature a different colour timber accent, en suite feature tile, feature wall paint colour and cabinetry.

  • West Perth Townhouse | Natalie Rumble

West Perth Townhouse MODERN AUSTRALIAN ARCHITECTURE In the suburban heart of West Perth is this beautiful two bedroom, two and half bathroom architecturally designed home with high ceilings and leafy outlooks. Sound like a sales pitch..? Well it is! I had the pleasure of styling and staging this home ready for sale. My clients are the home owners, one of which happens to be the architect, Paul Rumble and who also happens to be my dad. They wanted the home to feel light, bright, warm and colourful in keeping with the modern Australian style of architecture. The open plan living area on the ground floor was separated into lounge and dining using rugs to demarcate each. Blues were brought in as informed by the blue steel feature pergola over the street-facing courtyard and complemented with pink, orange and rust accents and light oak timber furniture. Artworks create interest throughout the home and inject some vibrancy while textured rugs, cushions and throws add colour and warmth. Upstairs is open and bright with plenty of natural light and cathedral-esque ceilings. The study space is a versatile area of the home which can be converted into a third bedroom or used as another TV room. The pieces selected for this area were intended to highlight the flexibility this space offers. The primary bedroom was styled in soft green linens in reference to the leafy outlook from its windows. 'Casual and comfortable' was the brief for this room. The second bedroom achieves a more youthful aesthetic with calmer tones in navy blue and rust linens.
