MSWA Albany
Multiple Sclerosis WA is the leading non-profit organisation providing neurological support services and research in Western Australia. Specialising in supporting people across over 30 neurological conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, acquired brain injury, and Motor Neurone Disease to name a few.
The MSWA Albany project will deliver a new Service Centre and Supported Accommodation Centre for people living with neurological conditions. By creating an open, warm and familiar aesthetic, the interior design can enhance the everyday experiences of the Centre’s residents and visitors.
The overall style for the MSWA Albany project is inspired by the Hamptons. With a neutral colour palette of whites, greys and browns, the interior design scheme aims to create a light and fresh ambiance with familiar comforts of home and the sophisticated charm of a beach side resort. Stone cladding and timber battens will be featured in warm hues while vertical and horizontal panelling will provide a coastal-home aesthetic. Individual highlights to specific areas will create interest and provide solutions to practical requirements.
Small details around the facility provide a domestic feel to the interiors, creating a home for up to ten MSWA clients in their own private units. With a communal theatre, lounge and dining room, the residents and their visitors have the room to socialise and participate in group activities.
